Project Overview
The City Council is carrying out works to improve the streetscape and traffic management on Strand.
The works include the following:
- Providing a right turn for buses from Strand eastbound to Lancaster Place southbound
- Providing additional signal controlled pedestrian crossings, including green man phases, at the junction
- Reconstruction of the Strand southern side footway with high quality materials
- Dedicated loading pad
- Reducing street clutter

Outline Programme
Coordinating the scheme with TfL and incorporating it into the ORN. Works commenced in November 2011 and were completed in August 2013.
