Ward: Bayswater
Streets Affected: Harrow Road, Lord Hill's Bridge
Project Type: Traffic, Safety & Parking
Project Overview
The junction of Lord Hills Bridge with Harrow Road was originally controlled by traffic signals but there was no provision for pedestrians to cross at street level. The only way to cross both roads was via pedestrian subways.
The City Council developed proposals to improve the safety of this junction which have since been implemented. The works included:
- Providing street level crossings across Harrow Road and Lord Hills Bridge,
- Closing the existing subways, provided a less desirable pedestrian route,
- Improving lighting levels around the junction, and
- Planting of trees on the north side of Harrow Road.
