Project Overview

Westminster City Council in partnership with Selfridges are improving the Public Realm on Duke Street.

The improvements are to include;

• Widening of the western footway
• New carriageway resurfacing on Duke Street with hot rolled asphalt;
• Introduction of a raised table on the junction between Duke Street and Barrett Street;
• Repaving footways along Duke Street, with natural York Stone;
• Changes to parking and loading provisions, with existing disabled bays and taxi ranks being moved to the footway;
• New granite kerbs throughout;
• Provision of 4 no. new trees on the junction with Duke Street and Barrett Street;
• New Street furniture including a bench and a drinking fountain;
• Updating the street lighting along the extents of the scheme; and
• Removal of all unnecessary street clutter.
