Project Overview

Westminster City Council has commissioned its service provider, FM Conway Limited, to undertake public realm improvement works on Carlton Hill and Abbey Road as part of a local safety scheme programme. The works will include the following:

• Creating an advisory cycle lane on Abbey Road.
• Anti-skid surfacing on pedestrian crossovers of the junction.
• Implementing ASLs and vehicle stop lines, so cyclists have early and safe release on the junction.
• Lining improvements.
• Highways lighting improvements.
• Redesigning the tactile paving layout on the South-western and North-western pedestrian crossing points of the junction.
• Further lining works to emphasis speed awareness approaching the junction.
