Project Overview

Westminster City Council has commissioned its service provider, FM Conway Limited, to undertake road safety improvements at the junction at Porchester Terrace and Bayswater Road. The works will include the following:

• Installation of a raised table on Porchester Terrace to slow vehicles down when turning.
• Kerb realignment and buildout to reduce vehicle speeds and make turning into and out of Porchester Terrace safer.
• Reduced crossing widths to improve pedestrian safety, by limiting the time vulnerable road users will be on the carriageway.
• Replacement of gully grates within the extent of the scheme to cycle friendly gullies.
• Updating of line marking on Bayswater Road to improve lane discipline for both cyclists and vehicles, including updates to the bus cage to encourage buses to align closer to the kerb.
